The flashback continued...
As soon as Devyani slowly opened her eyes, the soft rays of the late morning sun filtered through the curtains, filling the room with a warm golden glow. For a few peaceful seconds, she simply lay there, still wrapped in the comfort of the previous night. A faint smile appeared on her lips as she instinctively turned toward the other side of the bed.

The smile disappeared almost instantly.
