Saanvi was asleep in her room when the sharp sound of a gunshot suddenly echoed through the silence of the night. The sound was loud enough to jolt her awake. She sat up immediately, her breathing turning uneven as she looked around the dimly lit room. For a second, she couldn't understand what had happened, but the eerie silence that followed only made her heart race faster. Instinctively, her eyes moved to the other side of the bed.
